My Dream Church.
This year we decided to replace our Easter Celebration with a Pessah Celebration. We advertised a full reenactment of the last supper. Complete with a Passover meal, roasted lamb, low table (better to incline on). Jews for Jesus lead us through a traditional reading of scriptures remembering the delivery from Egypt and looking forward to the Messiah’s coming.
The references to Jesus’ coming are amazingly accurate images – truly prophetical. It is no wonder Jesus chose this feast to reveal himself, institute new remembrance traditions (the bread and the cup were already there, but foot-washing was new), as he would springboard into the ultimate sacrifice. Powerful.
