here, you taught me to dream, lightly

(Dedicated to my Grandma & Papap)

here, you taught me to dream, lightly

where the aching of the swing set strained a melody, at the beginning
where a breeze whispered promises wisping dandelion feathers in the wake of a wish

blooming soft and warm like love and the smell of fresh cut grass
a meadow holds a quiet dream, a giggle shared in secret

lifting spirits, confidence soars, a future unfolds
like a kite, the gift of time and the perfect day

wondering wonderful days meant to be eternal
I take a picture with my mind, memory captured

lessons of life lie among the white clover blossoms
and everywhere else you’ve tread, thank you
